Practice focus
Representation in state and federal jurisdictions, including:
- Federal: narcotics trafficking, mail fraud, money laundering, and corporate fraud
- State: serious felonies including burglary, assault, sexual offenses, and probation violations when those matters fit the firm's intake
- Digital evidence: prompt action to protect emails, voicemails, and other records before they are lost
Civil and commercial matters
Representation in business lawsuits and disputes. Counsel on wage garnishment and asset seizure risk when those issues arise with the firm's criminal or sanctions work.
OFAC and asset forfeiture
OFAC keeps the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. People and companies on that list generally have their assets frozen in the U.S. financial system, and U.S. persons are barred from most transactions with them. The listing is a sanctions designation by Treasury.
Asset forfeiture: intervention after seizure notices to contest permanent loss of property when the firm is retained.
Extradition and regional coordination
Representation of clients in U.S. federal courts on extradition matters. Coordination with counsel in Colombia and elsewhere in Latin America when a matter requires it.
