These Terms of Use govern your use of www.abreulaw.com, including its Spanish pages at www.abreulaw.com/es/ (together, the "Site"), operated by The Abreu Law Firm PLLC, also known as ABREU LAW PLLC ("Abreu Law," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
ATTORNEY ADVERTISING. This Site is an advertisement for legal services. The attorney responsible for its content is Robert E. Abreu, Esq., Florida Bar No. 0691119, The Abreu Law Firm PLLC, 201 Alhambra Circle, Suite 504, Coral Gables, Florida 33134 (Miami-Dade County).
Mr. Abreu is licensed to practice law in Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and the Eastern District of Texas. Federal criminal defense, extradition, OFAC sanctions, and U.S. immigration matters are governed by federal law.
The content on the Site is general information about the law and our firm. It is not legal advice and may not reflect the most recent changes in the law. Every case depends on its own facts. Do not act, or decide not to act, based on anything on the Site without first getting advice from a lawyer licensed in the right jurisdiction about your situation.
Using the Site, sending us a form or email, calling us, messaging us on social media, or having an initial consultation does not make you our client. An attorney-client relationship begins only after we have checked for conflicts of interest, agreed to represent you, and both you and the firm have signed a written engagement agreement.
Until then, we have no duty to act for you. Legal matters often have strict deadlines, such as deadlines to respond to charges, file appeals, contest extradition, or submit immigration filings. If you have a deadline, contact a lawyer right away. Do not wait for a reply from us.
Please do not send confidential, sensitive, or time-sensitive details about a legal matter through the Site, by email, or by voicemail before we have agreed in writing to represent you. In your first contact, include only your name, contact information, the names of the other people or entities involved (so we can check for conflicts), and a short, general description of what you need.
Information you send us without an invitation, before we agree to discuss your matter, may not be treated as confidential or privileged. Receiving it will not stop us from representing someone else whose interests differ from yours, including in the same matter. We may ask you to provide more details later through a secure method.
If you may be under investigation, do not contact us using a work email account, a shared device, or any account that others can monitor. Communications on those accounts may not be private or privileged.
Any case results, descriptions of past matters, or client comments on the Site depend on the specific facts and law of each matter. They do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any other matter. Your outcome will depend on the facts and law that apply to you.
We intend the Site to comply with Subchapter 4-7 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, which governs information about legal services and lawyer advertising. Mr. Abreu is not board certified by The Florida Bar in any area of law. Statements about our practice areas describe the types of matters we handle. They are not a claim of specialization or expertise beyond what the rules allow. The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based only on advertisements. Before you decide, ask us for free written information about our qualifications and experience.
The Site is not intended to solicit clients in any jurisdiction where it would not comply with that jurisdiction's lawyer advertising or practice rules. We will not accept a matter where doing so would be the unauthorized practice of law.
We offer Spanish versions of many pages, including these Terms and our Privacy Policy, for the convenience of our visitors. If there is a conflict between the English and Spanish versions, the English version controls, to the extent the law allows.
The Site and its content, including text, articles, graphics, logos, photographs, and design, are owned by Abreu Law or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view, print, or download content for your personal, noncommercial use, as long as you keep any copyright and other notices. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from the Site's content, or frame or mirror the Site, without our written permission. Linking to the Site's home page is allowed if the link does not suggest that we endorse you or your content.
You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; send false information or impersonate anyone; send spam, malware, or harmful code; try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its server, or any connected system; use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the Site; or interfere with the Site's operation or security. We may block access to anyone who violates these Terms.
The Site may link to websites we do not control, such as courts, government agencies (for example, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), news sources, and social media platforms. We provide these links for convenience only. We do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability. Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms.
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Abreu Law and its lawyers and staff will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if we were told such damages were possible. This section applies only to use of the Site. It does not limit any duty we owe to a client under a signed engagement agreement or the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.
You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Abreu Law and its lawyers and staff from any claims, losses, and reasonable costs, including attorney's fees, that arise from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
These Terms and any dispute arising from your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any lawsuit about the Site or these Terms must be brought only in the state courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, or in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. To the extent the law allows, you and we each waive the right to a jury trial in any such lawsuit.
We may change these Terms at any time by posting a new version on this page with a new "last updated" date. Changes take effect when posted. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the revised Terms.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about use of the Site. They do not replace any engagement agreement between a client and the firm.
